Elizabeth Fleming

An extremely talented photographer Elizabeth Fleming often makes really intriguing images of her six year old. Take a gander at the website to soak in some more of her work and style. I met Elizabeth for the first time at a Melanie Flood Projects opening and Tethered, which I think is a great name for a blog, has some of her fresher work and musings. This image in particular however I really enjoyed.

Shower Series With Audio

I have been recording people's voices and the sound of the water in the shower as audio bytes, as I was shooting people. Here is a first attempt at layering audio with the shower series. Asako Narahashi

Japanese artist, Asako Narahashi doesn't only have beautiful work but also a beautiful name for his series, Its called "half awake and half asleep in the water". I came across this grabbing work while looking through the Pix feed LA blog. And then soon after discovered that this artist is infact represented by Yossi Milo gallery. No surprise the work is indeed gorgeous. Props to the artist, the gallery and Pix feed LA.

Bill Viola

I am certainly going to to try and get to this exhibit. I read about this on Amy Elkins's Blog The imagery intrigues me greatly. The exhibit is titled Bodies of Light. Bill Viola received his BFA in Experimental Studios from Syracuse University, 1973. BIll  is is internationally recognized as a pioneer in the medium of video art. He has been instrumental in the establishment of video as a vital form of contemporary art, and in so doing has helped to greatly expand its scope in terms of technology, content, and historical reach. This show is up till December 23rd at James Cohan Gallery

New Work - Purple Tree

An entrepreneur of a lady miss Sarah Nathanson found me through a referral and hired me recently to photograph and create some lifestyle imagery for her company's brand PurpleTree. Sarah the designer/owner is bustling with passion for her vision. Some of my favorite images from the shoot are below and I'm also sharing some screen grabs from her soon to be launched website. Deidre Schoo a friend and talented photographer also helped me scout some locations for it.

I have been gone but I'm back

I have been absent for a few days. A long trip that made me hop form Ohio to California to Vegas and then back to NYC. But In between all these travels and musings I have been of course trying to soak in as many images as I can. Of course freshest in mind right now is the glorious landscape of the west. Its been hard to ignore images with that californian / desert aesthetic, bare and beautiful. One of the people whose work I am most inspired by is Ed Freedman Here is an image that I thought was beautiful. Ode to my travels out to west.
