Epic Bollywood Kiss!

My shooting on the day of Holi started quite seductively. Adorable Rishi and Dilnaaz, making out in the first image are passionately in a relationship for a few years now. Rishi is an engineer on ship and just returned after being gone for around a year or so. The couple decided to so kindly show me around on Holi. I certainly had the time of my life. Here are a few images from the day.
We started out at Versova where I unknowingly ended up hanging out with celebrities. Most of the people pictured below either have been or are about to be in bollywood flicks. We went on to Juhu where we hung out in a bungalow that belonged to Viraj. I don;t know his last name but his family was wonderful and his space looked on to Juhu beach. Guitars, music, hangage, beers, Holi and new friendship was what that day was all about. The images below are in attempt to document some of that awesomeness.

PDN EDU

Dear Jacqueline, besides the subscribers of Ishaara and passer by's who are lingering long enough to read. This post is for me and you. You have won the hearts of many, including the Photo Editor who had only initially decided to make the shower series a feature story. Pdn Edu informed me that this feature will consist of a 5 page interview story in the Spring 2010 issue of Pdn Edu. This year the focus was portraiture. Of course, I was thrilled! To add to the excitement I also just heard that they chose my image of you as a cover. Thank you for having faith in the series a lot earlier than most of the world jumped on to endorse it.

Two incredible Shows, 3/4 and 3/18 2010

I wish I didn't miss both of these! But please go to them if you can. The two artists I am speaking of are : Eric Ogden, Brooklyn based photographer who has a very cinematic approach to his lighting and Greg Miller who shoots all his work on the 8x10 format and rocks my world on a daily basis! I have had the good fortune to work with both and both have shows in the same month March 2010. To my misfortune I will be in Mumbai and will miss this awesomeness. If i were you and you were a photo lover and came upon this post I wouldn't dare to be anywhere but to these two venues. Dates: March 4th, Greg Miller at Kris Graves Projects in Dumbo and March 18th Hous Projects for Eric Ogden. Please find Flyers announcing both of their shows below!

Miss Lulu and the teaspoon shortage

I was most impressed by the lush Self Portraits Lucia Holm a.k.a Miss Lulu who did her Bachelors from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA was from New York academy of art. Feast you eyes on the images below and pay her visit on her website and blog for more.

Irene Anton

Turning you onto an incredible shooter, Irene Anton. I discovered her work through Denny Lang's blog who also did a post on my work some weeks ago, for which I thank him much! Please enjoy and subscribe to his blog and take a look at Irene's beautiful work!

May I have your attention please

Lately the shower series got picked up by a number of different blogs, which has been great - the fun part though besides getting more press has been discovering new and inspiring blogs I didn't even know of! Let me turn you on to a fantastic one called "White Noise of Evertyday" - beatutiful name and beautiful blog. Many thanks to them for this fabulous post on my work, but also for just running such a terrific blog. Please check it out! The screen grabs of the pictures below belong to two different photographers, The color shots are by Alessandro Bianchi from Reuters and the Black and white is by Jason Strickler
