Two memorable trips with the C330

The beach

This is Hearst Castle beach in California. One of my most memorable stops. People up for impromptu photo shoots and bridges straight out of a dream. Except for it being a little chilly there was not much to complain about. I particularly fell in love with this little girl. Enjoy!

The Firescape

Mitch was climbing out of the fire scape and the stars in the sky lined up. All the necessary equipment to create this image was right by my side, but most of all what the shot would have been impossible without, is attitude and Mitch knew exactly how to deliver that.

The collaboration of new faces, head shots and personal imagery continues. Mitch has beautiful eyes and he actually knows it.

Published, Picture Magazine

My picture along with a picture that I personally voted for as well was published in Picture Magazine of this month. The high resolution scanned tear sheet of the published piece was just emailed to me by the dynamite miss Christina Foxley of The Strand. Thanks Christina.

New Image, Katelyn

Many of you perhaps by now know this girl as my favorite muse and I am most certainly a fan of her face and personality. Katelyn also hired me to shoot her headshots and besides taking images for her need we got a little sidetracked and made pictures that please us. The purpose was to have fun and experiment in this little alcove behind her fire scape. The results convinced us all that more fun must be had.

Kelsey also willing visited my shower for the ongoing shower series. Kelsey needless to say is beautiful. Also the shower project has officially turned to film. Here is a polaroid of Kelsey on my fridge.

I was hired to shoot this beautiful girl's headshots, but of course outside of shooting for her needs, i got the chance to have some
creative fun with her. Kelsey goes to acting school and will soon be beating the New York streets to be hired for her talent. And talent she certainly has in abundance. Thanks Kelsey, you are a blast to shoot.

Emily Shur

I am loving this particular image from this photographer called Emily Shur right now. This was shot on Type 59 film. Emily is based in California, she is best known for her Celebrity work and is quite a common name for people familiar with the Photo Blog circuits. Shower Series- Nana

My shower series continues strong. Nana, who I have had the fortune of photographing last year, paid me a generous visit a few weekends ago. The images hopefully speak for themselves. Nana, in addition to allowing me to photograph her, also had a few words of reflection about this project. Thanks Nana for the time, words and good energy.

"Thankfully, I grew up in a home where the naked body was seen for what it is -- something everybody has under their clothes. Though nudity is often misrepresented through the lens of sexual objectification, ironically, we are most often naked when we're doing very asexual things like changing our clothes, using the toilet, or showering. This truth is what drew me to participate in Manjari Sharma's Shower Series. Strand photo contest - Final results

The final contest results are out and apart from the Viewers Choice Award, I have also officially won Third place in the Eye on the Strand photo contest. My image will published in Picture Magazine and it will be exhibited at Pratt CCPS Gallery in July. Thanks for the push, pat and hugs you all. I have the best friends and family in the world.

Viewers Choice Winner

I was just informed that I won the viewers choice award for the Eye on the strand photo contest. Its a small victory. This result is only for the viewers choice award, the actual judging results wont be announced until July but for right now I'm just happy about this news. The contest was to make an image in the Strand book store. Here was my premise for the contest. 

Strand, The dreamer's land.

Katelyn always wanted to be on a book cover. Having heard about this photo contest, my intention was to find Katelyn a befitting book that her face deserved. After an ardent search, the perfect book presented itself and it was so appropriately found in the "Hurt Art Books" section of the second floor. In a small alleyway of the strand book store where a muted palette of novels enveloped us, Katelyn's dream came alive. With 18 miles of endless possibilities, Strand gives all of us dreamers, the perfect environment to walk in, open up a book and dream again.

Cubie and Sam

I met Ian Cubie in Ohio. Ian was 21 and told me he was a baker. Ian also didn't go to school anymore, he said he just likes to bake, so he took a job in a local bakery. Ian said he woke up at 4 am & prepped for fresh bread; he said he loved the way it smelled.


This dapper young man is 11 years old and called Sam Williams. Sam was handsome, no doubt, but he also had the energy of a, well, 11 year old. I don't get to see a lot of people of that age often, not in my youngin' New York City circle. Sam was a race horse but also intriguingly had a very centering spirit. He was bouncing a second before he held that fantastic composure in shot 2.

Little Sully

Last month I was in Gambier, Ohio in a beautiful house built by the owners and my good friends, Matt Sullivan & Heather Doherty. Heather is a Botanist and a Conservationist at heart. This girl is one of my favorite people from Ohio and right now, she has a little papoo growing inside of her.

I had the pleasure of photographing her in all her grandeur. As I post these images Heather is having a Baby Shower back at her lovely home. This post is in honor of that. Here are some of my favorites images from our shoot. This is for you Heather. A little memory for the slowly baking bun in your oven.

African Burial Ground

Most of 1700's Africans buried their deceased in a coffin north of Wall street. Recent many hundreds of these dead bodies were discovered during a dig. After a long struggle today, a beautiful monument adorns this sacred site righteously honoring the ancestors of many people in this country. It is Located at Duane and Elk Streets. I highly suggest paying it a visit. Here is an image of the actual monument.

For this African Burial Ground foundation, I was also asked to shoot about 50 invaluable sites all over NYC that have roots in African history. The project was titled Mapping the African American Past and lasted over several months for me.

I was so humbled as I gathered bits and pieces of knowledge of the Abolition of slavery in this city. The pictures I shot for this project are currently being shown off on Columbia University's website and a final designed product is being sold in the museum stores.

Fashion Week 2009

For Fashion week this year I photographed for AOL style. Its a spectacle to see the way the streets of New York are clammed by the glam. People are dripping style and the attitude they wear is just as sharp as their attire. Here are some of my favorites.
