Nudage

I was recently selected to travel to Santader, Spain for an art Exhibit/festival titled Espacio Nudage. You can find out more about the event and how I came to be selected here.

I just wanted so give a quick shout to the fabulous team and experiences I had with everyone I met in Spain. Here is an image from the streets of Santander. A full description on the highlights, artists and organizers I met there will follow very shortly. In the mean time I will leave you with this image that I took on my way out of the city.

Dubai

Shiny, sharp, modern and unnaturally blue for a desert are the few words that come to mind when I try to describe the bustling concrete jungle named Dubai. While I was there visiting... I was also additionally assigned to shoot some streetstyle Dubai fashion for AOL. So take a look at some random glimpses of the city followed by the street style story for AOL. The Shiny building right below this is Bhurj Khalifa, currently the tallest building in the world.

O-BAMAA

I have been doing a fair bit of shooting on the 4x5. Recently I made the above image of this street vendor, (panwaala)... I happened to turn my attention to look in the opposite direction. On the busy streets of ancient Vrindavan in north India, stood this billboard, proud and tall. "Rupa" the famous Indian underwear company just released a newly designed men's brief called O-BAAMA. Just couldn't resist making a picture of this hip international branding sensibility.

Cheers to Feature Shoot and others!

I learned about the incredible Berlin photographer, Amira Fritz through feature shoot and re-blogged about her work on my blog last November. This is how I came to discover, read and respect feature shoot for over a year.

I have been told by Stella Kramer and a few others that Feature shoot would be a good platform for the style of my imagery. To my complete joy, my new series Anastasia was recently featured on feature shoot. A big thanks to Alison Zavos for starting my 2011 off with a bang. An affair with the 4x5

Im beginning a new project here in Mumbai, details to follow but the project will be shot on a beautiful 4x5 camera lent to me by my close fried, charming and very talented Fashion Photographer miss Erika Hokanson. Also I had the pleasure and fortune of being graciously assisted on this test shot by Simon Biswas who is a complete rockstar in his own right. Pictured in this image is the fabulous miss Kiran Sharma, a.k.a. my mom.


Here are the first few tests from that camera. Excited to work with a great lab that I can run film to and get images professionally scanned and printed by in Mumbai.
